If the books you need are not available through CONSORT or OhioLINK, or if the journal articles you need are not accessible in our Libraries or electronically on campus, you can now request those materials through the Libraries’ new ILLiad interlibrary loan system. To do so, go to the Libraries home page and connect to the service by clicking “ILLiad ILL Form” under “Library Quick Links” in the left column of the page.
If you are a new user, you will need to fill out a “First Time User” form to create an account and generate your username and password. Once done, you can login to request materials, check the status of your requested materials, request renewals, and “pick up” electronic copies of articles online, all through your new ILLiad user account.
When processed and received, hard copies of books and media will be put on the ILLiad Hold Shelf behind the Gault Library circulation desk. Notices when the materials are in, overdue, etc. will be emailed to you. Questions can be directed to David Wiebe (dwiebe@wooster.edu ; ext. 2137) or Julia Gustafson (jgustafson@wooster.edu ; ext. 2315).
For past interlibrary loan users who remember WebZap, the ILLiad service replaces the old WebZap system.

The libraries are in the process of changing from the WebZap interlibrary loan system to one called Illiad. During the transition period, users clicking on the link for WebZap will be taken to an ILL form on the College’s secure web server. This will require users to log in using the Novell username and password. Any questions regarding this temporary change should be directed to Mark Gooch.

JSTOR has announced the following new features:
Improved Article PDF Files
A new PDF format for downloading and printing articles has replaced the previous High Quality PDF format. This new format enables JSTOR users to “search” or “find” words and phrases within the PDF version of JSTOR articles, as well as copy and paste portions of text from them. In addition to these benefits, the new format facilitates the use of screen-reading software, such as JAWS for Windows. Moreover, PDF files in this new format are, on average, smaller in size than our current High Quality PDF files, which means that they can be downloaded more quickly and easily.
JSTOR/ARTstor Searching
ARTstor, a non-profit initiative founded by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, provides a repository of hundreds of thousands of digital images and related data. Similar to JSTOR, ARTstor’s mission is to serve the scholarly community through its collections. To enhance the benefits of these two resources and to enable researchers to discover useful content across all formats, JSTOR has developed a way to search both JSTOR and ARTstor content simultaneously.
Specifically, users have the opportunity to search JSTOR article content, JSTOR image captions, and metadata for ARTstor images. Search results pages are separated into three tabs — Articles, Images from Articles, and ARTstor Images — so that users can easily view and choose among their results. Article image thumbnails accompany the caption results, and ARTstor results contain title, creator, and date information. If your institution participates in ARTstor as well as JSTOR, you will also be able see ARTstor image thumbnails in your results and click to view the full-sized image and complete metadata through the ARTstor website. Users at non-participating institutions will be able to search and see the metadata, but not images, for ARTstor results.

Stanton Hales presiding over a college working to meet the ever-changing educational needs of students in the 21st century.
The exhibit is available for viewing March 26 - June 29, 2007. Special arrangements can be made to view additional works from the College Archives Collection. For more information, contact Denise Monbarren (ext. 2527) or Elaine Smith Snyder (ext. 2155).

The Chronicle of Higher Education has recently begun to provide institutional access via the web. The College Libraries have subscribed to this institutional access. This means that any user on campus (or using Virtual Private Network (VPN)) can access the full content of the Chronicle via its web site. This access includes the daily news, the current issues, and the archives of the Chronicle. The Chronicle is also accessible from the Libraries’ Current News and Weather page.
